Wednesday , 6 March 2013
The European Union is made up of democratic European countries, concentrated in building a common project of peace and development.
Its Member States have set up common institutions so that decisions on specific matters of joint interest can be made democratically at na European level.
The common will to some countries to end the war was the "motto" necessary and the foundation on which laid the beginning of construction of the European Union. The idea of European integration was conceived to make it impossible for the death and destruction of European countries could again become reality. It was first proposed by Jean Monnet and presented by French Foreign Minister Robert Schuman in a speech made on 9 May 1950.
